A loose sock comes off — that's the whole problem in one sentence. Measure across the widest part of his paw while he's standing on it, because paws spread under weight.

Why two of each size. Paw width decides whether the sock fits. Sock height is about his legs — the same paw measurement comes in a 17cm and a 21cm version, so a stocky dog and a leggy dog with identical paws take different sizes.
Between sizes? Go down, not up. Snug stays on — loose doesn't.
Paws under 6.5cm or over 8.5cm? These won't fit him properly, and I'd rather say so than sell you socks that slide off.

Will they actually stay on?
That's the whole reason I picked these. The grip covers the full underside rather than just the sole, so it still works when the sock rotates on his paw, and a soft strap fastens above the ankle to stop them working their way down. Get the size snug and they stay put. If they won't stay on him, email me and I'll sort it out.
Can he wear them outside?
No — these are indoor socks. On pavement they'll wear through quickly. They're made for timber, tile, laminate and polished concrete inside the house.
What size do I need?
Two numbers decide it. Measure the width of his paw with it flat on the floor taking his weight — that's the fit. Then his build decides the height: a stocky, short-legged dog takes the 17cm version, a leggier dog the 21cm. The chart above pairs them up. Between sizes, go down — snug stays on, loose doesn't.

Will he hate them?
Some dogs walk off in them straight away, some need a few short sessions to get used to the feel. Put them on before something he wants to do, keep the first go to a few minutes, and build up from there.
