A bowl on the floor was fine when he was three. Now the front legs splay a bit wider, the neck drops further than looks comfortable, and there's a pause before he straightens back up.
It's a small thing that happens twice a day, every day. Raising the bowl to his height takes the reach out of it — he lowers his head and eats, instead of bracing himself over the floor.

What height should I use?
Roughly level with the bottom of his chest when he's standing. Measure floor to chest and pick the closest setting — the height guide above has a breed rough-guide too. If you're between settings, send me the measurement and his breed and I'll tell you which one.
Does a raised bowl help with bloat?
No — and be careful with anyone who tells you it does. Some studies have found raised feeding is associated with a higher risk of bloat in large, deep-chested breeds, not lower. I sell this for comfort and posture, not as a bloat measure. If your dog is deep-chested or has any history of gastric problems, talk to your vet before switching to a raised feeder.
Is it wobbly at the tallest setting?
The legs lock at each height and the bowls sit down into the frame rather than on top of it, which keeps the weight low. On an uneven floor any four-legged stand can rock slightly — if yours doesn't sit steady, email me and I'll sort it out.
How hard is it to change the height?
Seconds, no tools. Set the legs to the height you want and they lock in place.
